During the change of duty on Saturday, "accidental firing" took place at the state Secretariat, 'Nabanna' without hurting anyone, police said.

As per the investigation, the incident took place in a bunker near the north gate of the highly secured Secretariat when a shot went off from the service rifle of a constable posted with the Armed Police around 12.25 pm.

However, no one was injured in the incident as the bullet hit the wall of the bunker, police said.

An inquiry has been initiated to find out more details about the incident and the CCTV footages are being checked, the official added.
