Kolkata, April 28 (IANS) West Bengal's opposition CPI-M Sunday alleged that a close relative of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has amassed fortunes worth.Rs 300 crore in only three years and wondered whether he was running a chit fund.
Naming a company purportedly run by the man - who is also a young Trinamool Congress leader, Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) state secretariat member Gautam Deb said: "I wonder whether he is running a chit fund. The company is into real estate and a micro-finance company. And micro-finance is another name for chit fund."
"Within three years he has amassed Rs.300 crore. He is running consultancy, hotels all over the country. My question is whether the company has got the nod from the SEBI", Deb said at a public rally organised by the CPI-M at Panihati in neighbouring North 24 Parganas.
