Kamal Chawla of India entered the pre-quarterfinals of the snooker singles event with a 4-1 win over Qatar's Bukshaisha Mohson in the Asian Indoor Games here Thursday.
Indians, however, suffered defeats elsewhere as Sourav Kothari went down 0-3 to Thai ace Praprut Chaithanasakun while Balachandra Bhaskar lost 1-3 to another Thailand star Thawat Sujaritthurakarn in the pre-quarterfinals of the 100-up billiards competition.
In the women's 9-ball pool event, Neena Praveen was beaten 1-7 by Korea's Kim Gayoung in the pre-quarterfinals after having beaten Singapore's Chai Zeet Huey 7-4 in the previous round. Fellow-Indian Keerath Bhandal also lost her Round-of-32 match 4-7 to Singaporean Hoe Shu Wah.
