The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) has constituted a 16-member expert committee to facilitate rehabilitation of female victims of trafficking and commercial sex rackets, officials said on Friday.

The committee, headed by DCW Member Promila Gupta, will comprise representatives of Delhi Police, non-governmental organisations and women's wings of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the Confederation of Indian Industry.

The committee, which would have a tenure of two months, would prepare a draft policy on the matter as also formulate proposals to rehabilitate the victims.

"It will also assess the issues facing the children of commercial sex workers in G.B. Road area and develop an action plan to give life choices to such children," a DCW official told IANS.

The committee would conduct visits, if required, to study experiences in other states and seek best practices therein, the official said.
