Spanish goalkeeper David de Gea will return to Manchester United pre-season training when he returns from his holiday in Madrid.
De Gea is expected to sign for Real Madrid this summer after telling teammates of his desire to leave the English Premier League (EPL) club. The 24-year-old failed to respond to an offer of a 200,000 pound-a-week new contract, but won't depart before United's preparations for the new season start next week, dailymail.co.uk reported on Sunday.
"Real Madrid? I have to return to Manchester for pre-season," after which he refused to answer any other questions regarding his future.
United head coach Louis van Gaal is set for talks with de Gea in the next week as both parties look to find a resolution, with the former Atletico Madrid keeper now in the final year of his current contract.
United have a valuation of 25 million pounds and above for de Gea and will expect Real to match it. But United's pursuit of Real defender Sergio Ramos has complicated proceedings.
An opening bid of 28.6 million pounds for Ramos was rejected by Real and they have placed a 65 million pounds asking price on the seasoned Spain international. Both clubs remain adamant they won't drop their asking prices for Ramos and de Gea.
