An Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Delhi Police allegedly committed suicide here by shooting himself with his service revolver, police said on Friday.
The incident was reported to police at around 8 a.m by a motorist who found P.P. Anirudh lying dead not far from the Prime Minister's residence in the heart of Delhi.
"Anirudh was posted with the Third Battalion of Delhi Armed Police. Initial investigation revealed he shot himself while going back home. His motorcycle was found near the spot along with his service revolver," a senior police officer told IANS.
"We are also probing to ascertain if there is any foul play," he added.
