German international Mats Hummels, current captain of Borussia Dortmund, looks like he is getting closer to signing for rivals Bayern Munich, officials of both football clubs have said.
Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said on Tuesday: "I can basically confirm what (Dortmund's general manager Hans-Joachim) Watzke said, that Mats is considering Bayern."
"We have got to bear in mind that he has a contract and I would not like to damage the very good relationship that we have built up with Dortmund over the past two years by making one imprudent remark," Rummenigge added.
Hummels' contract at Dortmund is still good until 2017, while press reports suggest that there is an offer on the table of 30 million euros ($33.9 million) to purchase the German defender for four seasons, reports Efe.
