Empowering women on Mother's Day

On the occasion of Mother's Day, which falls on the second Sunday in May, mobile commerce platform Paytm will showcase artistic creations made by women of Samruddhi Mahila Bachat Gat and help them earn a living.

Paytm has joined hands with Samruddhi Mahila Bachat Gat, a self-help group that works towards empowering women by making them financially independent. The group helps in providing the women with an opportunity to showcase their artistic craftsmanship to a larger market.

Paytm will be providing its online platform to market the creative handwork such as crochet cross bags, hand bags, wallets, cross bags, jewellery and Warli paintings made by the women.

"It is befitting that on Mother's Day, we could offer it as a tribute to all the women and mothers associated with us and be hopeful of achieving financial and social independence for them through this alliance," Kiran Badhe, chairperson, Samruddhi Mahila Bachat Gat, said in a statement.
