England posted 196/2 at tea on the first day of their fourth cricket Test match against India here on Thursday.
England's batting charge was led by debutant Keaton Jennings who cracked a superb unbeaten 103. He was accompanied by Moeen Ali 25 when tea was taken after 62 overs had been bowled.
England skipper Alastair Cook (46) and No.3 Joe Root (21) were the batsmen dismissed for the visiting team.
Cook was stumped by Parthiv Patel off the bowling of left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja (1/29).
Root was caught by Kohli off the bowling of off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin (1/55)
England were 117/1 at lunch.
