The 2018 Hainan Danzhou International Marathon concluded here on Sunday, with Ethiopia's Mazengiya Ayalew Meseret and Tsehynesh Tsale Tsenga claiming the title in the men's and women's group respectively.
Meseret finished in 2:24:47, beating Kenya's Dickson Kiptoo and Ethiopian Beech Dereje Urgecha to win the title. Tsenga was crowned with a time of 2:50:36, followed by Chinese top finisher Zhang Jingxia, with a time of 2:56:49, reports Xinhua news agency.
Inaugurated in 2010, the Hainan Danzhou International Marathon featured three races this year: marathon (42.195 km), half marathon (21.0975 km) and mini-marathon (5 km). About 16,000 runners at home and abroad competed in the race.
