On a day when cricketer Yuvraj Singh was picked up by Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Delhi Daredevils for a whopping Rs.16 crore, his father Yograj Singh Monday questioned the southpaw's omission from India's 2015 World Cup squad.

Former India cricketer Yograj said here that he was baffled that Yuvraj, who was Player-of-the-Tournament in the 2011 World Cup which India won, was omitted from the national squad for the mega event being played in Australia and New Zealand.

"I want to know what is (Mahendra Singh) Dhoni's problem with my son. He played for the country even when he was suffering from cancer. I don't understand this," Yograj, a former all-rounder in the 1970s, said.

"If Dhoni is having personal issues with my son, I won't do anything, God will do justice," added Yograj, who was otherwise elated that his son had fetched the biggest amount in the IPL auction happening in Bengaluru Monday.

Yuvraj immediately tweeted to clear the matter.

"Like every parent my dad is also passionate and I am sure got carried away... always enjoyed playing under Mahi n would do so in future," Yuvraj tweeted.

Yuvraj had also emerged the most expensive player in the previous auction when he was picked up by Royal Challengers Bangalore for Rs.12 crore.
