Four fresh cases of swine flu have been recorded in West Bengal, taking the total figure for the state to 467 but no more deaths, a health official said on Thursday.
"Four new cases have been detected. The total number of cases is now 467 and no new deaths were reported so the toll remains at 24 since Friday," Principal Secretary (Health and Family Welfare)Malay Kumar De told IANS.
He said 394 patients have been cured and discharged from various hospitals in the state and 49 were currently being treated for the H1N1 viral infection.
Swine flu has claimed a total of 1,994 lives in India this year with the total number of cases crossing the 33,000 mark, according to latest data from the union health ministry on Thursday.
