Four passengers booked for TTE's death in Andhra

Railway police in Andhra Pradesh Thursday booked four passengers of a train in connection with the death of a train ticket examiner (TTE).

The TTE died of shock allegedly after the passengers made allegations of theft against during a quarrel at Tungbhadra railway station in Kurnool district in the early hours of the day.

Railway police of Guntakal division of the South Central Railway booked the passengers of Chennai-Shirdi Super Express for the death of Sanjeeva Rao (50).

The incident took place in a AC passenger car after two passengers and their family members picked up an argument with the TTE, who was on duty between Guntakal and Wadi. According to police, the passengers raised an objection to the TTE wearing plain clothes instead of his uniform.

The passengers grew suspicious when Rao entered the compartment and asked them to show their tickets. After a heated argument, both the sides lodged complaints against each other with the railway police.

The passengers alleged that TTE committed theft of their money. Shocked over the charge, the TTE allegedly collapsed and died.

Police were questioning the accused. An officer said further investigations were on.
