The management of a popular beach resort in North Goa was on Friday booked for negligence following drowning of a four-year-old girl on Thursday in the swimming pool located in the resort's premises, police said.
Police Inspector Jivba Dalvi of Calangute Police Station said that an FIR had been filed under Section 304-A, read with 34 of the Indian Penal Code, after an inquiry revealed that the "hotel owner and manager failed to provide adequate safety measures and life-guard to the deceased girl and other children in the swimming pool area".
On Thursday, Arini Gupta died at the Sea Breeze Resort at the popular Calangute beach village located 20 km from Panaji while playing in the swimming pool.
