The West Bengal government has proposed setting up a City-to-City (C2C) partnership of Howrah with Yokohama in Japan, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said here Thursday.

"We have proposed to set up a C2C partnership of Howrah with Yokohama. This bilateral co-operation will lead to social, economic and cultural exchanges between the two satellite cities with long history," Banerjee said on Facebook.

"There will be infrastructural, administrative and logistic co-operation between the cities resulting in long-term employment opportunities, skills and capacity building and all-round development," she added.
