Indian boxer Kuldeep Singh advanced to the quarter-finals of the men's light heavy (81kg) division in the 17th Asian Games at the Seonhak Gymnasium here Friday.
Kuldeep won 2-1 in a split decision against Thailand's Anavrat Thongkrathok in the pre-quarterfinal. The Indian won 29-28 on the first judge's decision while the second judge ruled 29-27 in favour of Thongkratok. However, Kuldeep won the verdict of the third judge, who favoured the 25-year-old Indian with a score of 29-28.
