The P5+1 countries' foreign ministers meeting in the ongoing Vienna talks on Iran's nuclear programme can help the nuclear talks with Iran progress better, Alaeddin Boroujerdi, a senior lawmaker, said Friday.
Boroujerdi, head of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of Iran's Majlis, said the greater authority the foreign ministers enjoy can add more vigour to the talks, IRNA news agency reported.
What Iran insists on are reasonable rights enshrined in the principles of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), Boroujerdi said.
The Iranian legislator said that this round of talks is very tough because it is not quite clear whether the two sides could reach a final agreement by July 20.
The new round of talks started in Vienna July 2.
In November 2013, Iran and the P5+1 -- the US, Russia, China, Britain, and France, plus Germany -- set the date as the deadline for developing a final comprehensive agreement.
Boroujerdi advised Americans to stop demanding too much and abide by the realities.
