The Iranian Army displayed and tested its military hardware during the second phase of the major military exercise code-named Mohammad Rasoulollah (PUBH) here.
Various units of the Iranian Army's ground forces participated in the manoeuvres. Different defence systems, including newly-developed ones, were also tested Friday, Press TV reported.
Iran Air Force' Cobra combat helicopters were deployed in the drill and backed the ground forces units by striking hypothetical enemy targets.
Zolfaghar and Samsam Tanks, both domestically manufactured, were used in the exercises.
Dehlavieh and Toufan anti-tank missile systems, Shaher and Akhgar sniper rifles, and the Moharram Gatling gun were also successfully tested.
The ground forces tested drones including Shahin in the exercises which involved reconnaissance and data collection operations.
A mine-laying vehicle was also unveiled. The vehicle has the capability to mine a large area in a short period of time.
During the first stage of the six-day military drill Thursday, different ground units and air defence systems were stationed in the south-eastern part of the country.
The exercises are covering an area of 2.2 million sq. km, from the east of the Strait of Hormuz, a strait between the Gulf of Oman and the Persian Gulf, to the southern parts of the Gulf of Aden in the Arabian Sea.
