Income Tax (IT) officials on Thursday conducted raids on former Karnataka Chief Minister S.M. Krishna's son-in-law, V.G. Siddhartha's, firms here for tax evasion, a senior official said.
"Raids were ongoing and officials are searching for evidences of tax evasion," IT Joint Commissioner S. Ramesh told IANS here.
Siddhartha, a businessman, is the founder-owner of the Cafe Coffee Day chain of outlets.
The firm's main office in the city's Vittal Mallya Road along with few other locations were being raided.
"The number of locations that were being raided and other details will be disclosed only after the search ends," Ramesh said.
Former External Affairs Minister Krishna joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in March after ending his 46-year-long association with the Congress.
