Actors Kerry Washington, Nathan Fillion and Lea DeLaria have joined the cast of upcoming 3D computer-animated comedy-drama film "Cars 3".

The three stars will join Owen Wilson, who will reprise his role as world champion racer Lightning McQueen, who is blindsided by a new generation of racers and is struggling to get back on track.

"We're introducing some fun and really appealing characters in 'Cars 3', so we really wanted to find the right voices to help us breathe life into them. We hit a home run with this group. I couldn't be happier," director Brian Fee said in a statement.

Washington will voice Natalie Certain, a respected analyst who excels in her ability to evaluate a racer's statistics, but she could be underestimating the importance of determination.

Fillion will voice Sterling, a brilliant and dapper businesscar who runs one of the most successful elite training facilities in the country, but is also driven to ensure all of his investments pay off.

DeLaria will voice Miss Fritter, a local legend whose formidable school-bus size is intimidating, but it's her smokestacks of doom, razor-sharp stop sign and crazy collection of her victims' license plates that usually steers her opponents in the other direction.

"Cars 3" is slated to release on June 16 in India.
