Indian vice captain Virat Kohli has become the most followed Indian sportsman on social networking site Twitter with a base of 4,870,190 followers, replacing batting legend Sachin Tendulkar at the top.
Kohli (@imVKohli) had posted a selfie Oct 2 when his twitter account reached 4 million followers.
Tendulkar (@sachin_rt) comes a close second with 4,869,849 fans, followed by Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni at the third spot with 3,327,033 followers.
Nine of the top-ten most-followed sporting personalities in India were cricketers with tennis star Sania Mirza the only exception at number seven.
Others on the list were Indian opening batsman Virender Sehwag (No.4) with 3,180,081 followers, all-rounder Yuvraj Singh (fifth) with 2,723,090 fans, followed by the likes of Suresh Raina, pacer Zaheer Khan, batsmen Gautam Gambhir and Rohit Sharma.
