To generate educational awareness among parents and their children, a man from Lucknow has pedalled all the way to Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir, covering a distance of 1,400 km in nearly three months.

"My desire is to create a revolution in the field of education. I want to impart education to children, particularly the underprivileged," Aditya Kumar, a science graduate conducting mobile classes in villages during the journey, told IANS.

Kumar, who is in his mid-40s, says he has been conducting his "mobile school" for around 20 years in Lucknow.

"Cycle has become my home and school now. Till date I have imparted free education to 5,000 poor, orphan and needy children. When I lived on the streets, a teacher changed my life and helped me to graduation. This inspired me to do the same," he said.

Kumar, who started off from Uttar Pradesh about three months ago, has covered hundreds of villages in Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra, conducting mobile classes from village to village, said he spends most of his time with children highlighting importance of education.

"My aim is make children and their parents understand the value of education in their life," he said.

Acknowledged by "Limca Book of Records" for his social service and honoured by Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik with Nishan-e-Imam Hussain Award, Kumar said he has vowed to remain a bachelor as he wishes to devote his life for the poor children to impart education.
