Lokayukta police in Madhya Pradesh on Monday raided a top RTO official here and in Rewa and claimed to have seized evidence of Rs.1 crore in assets that are disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Searches aimed at Arun Singh, head constable in the Regional Transport Office (RTO), yielded evidence of ownership of one house and two plots in Indore and one house, two plots and 30 acres of agricultural land in Rewa, Lokayukta police DSP D.S. Gurjar told IANS here.
Gurjar said the Lokayukta police also found evidence of two bank lockers belonging to Arun Singh and estimated a total of Rs.1 crore worth of unexplained assets.
Arun Singh would have drawn a total salary of no more than Rs.50 lakh over 30 years of his service, he said.
Arun Singh had been transferred last month from Indore to Jabalpur.
