A man killed his wife, son and daughter before committing suicide in Jharkhand's Seraikela-Kharswa district, police said on Friday.

The incident took place in Dolserai Dumar village.

Police said Sehrai Hembram, 42, used a sickle to first hack his wife Mahi, 33, to death and then attacked his four children.

Two of them -- Sabita, 6, and one-year-old Badai -- died. Two others -- Pinki, 8, and Sameer, 10 -- were injured.

Later, he committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan. Police said that he was mentally ill.
