Condemning the attack on CRPF personnel in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district, the Congress on Monday said it is a clear case of intelligence failure and called upon Prime Minister Narendra Modi to act decisively against anti-national forces.
"Our salute to brave soldiers and condolences to families. On March 11, 11 paramilitary commandos had to sacrifice their lives in a brutal Naxalite attack. Did Chattisgarh BJP government learn any lesson?" said Congress spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala.
"Is it not a clear case of intelligence failure on the part of central and state governments? How does the present government propose to tackle Naxalites?"
Surjewala said, "Prime Minister should take decisive action against the anti-national forces, who are directly challenging the might of the nation."
"BJP government of Raman Singh (Chief Minister) was found wanting in fighting Naxals even then (March 11), as it is failing now to fight Naxals as jawans make sacrifices," he added.
Hundreds of Maoists on Monday massacred at least 26 CRPF personnel in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district in the bloodiest attack in the state since 2010.
