Welcoming the CBI's filing of FIR in the Narada case, Narada News CEO Mathew Samuel on Monday said the agency's action proved that the visuals in the sting footage are not doctored and there was no conspiracy behind he sting operation.
"The is a welcoming move. I think CBI has gone though all the unedited visuals in the tape and they might have come to the conclusion that the visuals were not doctored and there is no conspiracy involved in this except pure journalistic license.
"For these reasons they have come to the conclusion to file an FIR," said Samuel, who had carried out the sting operation on behalf of the news portal.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday filed an FIR against 13 persons, including senior leaders of West Bengal's ruling Trinamool Congress who were purportedly seen taking money, in the Narada case.
The name of all 12 Trinamool leaders and state ministers seen in the tape including Trinamool Congress Rajya Sabha MP Mukul Roy, state Transport Minister Subhendu Adhikari, Kolkata Mayor and Fire Services Minister Sovan Chatterjee, Urban Development Minister Firhad Hakim, and Rural Development Minister Subrata Mukherjee feature in the FIR.
