Midfielder Mikel Rico and Spanish football club Athletic Bilbao have agreed to extend their contract until 2018, the La Liga side confirmed Tuesday.
The 30-year-old Rico joined the Basque club in late August 2013 and has played 45 league matches for Bilbao with five goals, reports Xinhua.
His previous contract with Bilbao was till 2016 and the new deal includes a buyout clause of 35 million euros.
