The AIADMK faction, led by Tamil Nadu's former Chief Minister O.Panneerselvam, on Wednesday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has agreed to participate in the birth centenary celebration of party founder and late Chief Minister M.G. Ramachandran (MGR).
In a statement here, the AIADMK-Puratchi Thalaivi Amma said Modi assured Panneerselvam and others about his participation and also asked them to inform the event date.
The statement comes on a day when Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K.Palaniswami invited Modi as the Chief Guest at the valedictory event of the birth centenary celebration of MGR proposed to be held here between December 15 and 31.
