Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to be in Mhow town on Thursday to pay tribute to Bhimrao Ambedkar on his 125th birth anniversary and launch the 'Gram Uday se Bharat Uday' campaign.

Modi is expected to land in Indore city at about 12.55 p.m. and then proceed to Mhow. He will pay homage to the late leader at Ambedkar memorial in the town and attend a function during which he will address the nation.

Ambedkar, the architect of India's constitution, was born in Mhow, part of Indore district of Madhya Pradesh.

'Gram Uday se Bharat Uday' (India's uplift through rural uplift) is a government campaign to be conducted from Ambedkar birth anniversary on 14th April to 'National Panchayati Raj Day' on 24 April.

Its aim is to strengthen Panchayati Raj (three tier self-government system in rural areas) and through it boost social harmony in the villages and their development.
