BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi Tuesday promised that, if voted to power, he would bring back black money stashed away in foreign banks.
Addressing an election meeting here, he said he would use every law of the land and if necessary amend the laws and take help of any country to bring back the black money.
"I will bring back every rupee and use it for the welfare of poor," he said.
Modi also promised that the government would use part of the money to pay back to salaried class who are honestly paying their taxes.
"The government will reward the honest and punish the dishonest," he said.
The Gujarat chief minister pointed out that the Supreme Court Tuesday pulled up the government for doing nothing to comply with its order directing it to form a special investigation team to bring back the black money.
Modi alleged that the Congress is saying no to bringing back the black money as it belong to its leaders.
