Prime Minister Narendra Modi has wished his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif speedy recovery after the latter called him up from London on Monday night ahead of his heart surgery.
Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Vikas Swarup tweeted: "PM @narendramodi receives phone call from PM Nawaz Sharif just before Pak PM is wheeled in for surgery. Wishes him a speedy recovery."
The Pakistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs also said in a statement: "Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif telephoned Prime Minister Modi today (30 May) and expressed gratitude for Indian Prime Minister's best wishes for his upcoming operation and wishes for a speedy recovery."
Modi had on Twitter expressed his good wishes for Sharif two days ago for the heart surgery.
