Italian football club Napoli's president Aurelio De Laurentiis will donate a part of revenue from their next Serie A game against AC Milan on Saturday to earthquake victims.

Some 1,200 people spent Wednesday night in tents and accommodation supplied by the Italian authorities after a 6.2 magnitude earthquake demolished villages in central Italy, civil protection sources said on Thursday, reports Efe.

At least 247 people have been killed, though the figure remains provisional and could increase with dozens of people still missing.

The club said in a statement on its website that De Laurentiis and Napoli are in solidarity with the people of central Italy shaken by the terrible earthquake, adding that the club will donate a portion of the proceeds from the tickets of the Napoli-Milan match to the victims.

The Napoli chairman expressed his sadness over the consequences of the earthquake.

On Wednesday, the Giovanni Agnelli foundation, an organisation created in honour of Juventus president, said it will donate 150,000 euros ($169,350) to help everyone involved.
