India's apex child rights body Thursday took up the matter of a minor school girl's death after allegedly being ragged and asked the West Bengal government to initiate a probe into the matter.
"We have taken suo motu cognisance of the unfortunate incident today (Thursday) and have written to the West Bengal government asking for a detailed probe into the matter," National Commission for Protection of Child Rights member Vinod Kumar Tikoo told IANS.
