There was no gelatin or RDX used in the bomb that exploded in Pune last week, Maharashtra ATS officers said Thursday, citing the forensic report.

The bomb, which was an improvised explosive device, contained a mixture of ammonium nitrate, potassium nitrate and small iron ball bearings intended to blow out as shrapnel and inflict injuries, said the officials.

The blast July 10 at a parking lot opposite the Farazkhana police station, injured five people.

The anti-terrorism squad (ATS) is investigating it as a potential terror attack, but barring certain leads which are being probed, no group has been identified.

The bomb was planted on a stolen motorcycle belonging to a policeman from Satara, Dadasaheb Rajge, for which he had lodged a theft complaint June 27.
