Abhishek Jawkar, the director of the film "Missing on a Weekend", is not worried about his film clashing with the Tiger Shroff-Jacqueline Fernandez starrer "A Flying Jatt" as he feels that the genres are completely opposite and that the film has got the required number of screens.
Abhishek Jawkar told IANS on Friday, "We are not worried about "A Flying Jatt". Frankly speaking, it is not even a clash. Their film is obviously big and they will get the maximum number of screens, but we were never targeting a big number of screens anyway. In fact, the number of screens we were looking for, we have got that and we are extremely happy and satisfied with that."
He added, "Their film is targeting the kids and is a family film, and our film is completely opposite and being a suspense thriller, we were always targeting the youth as they love suspense thrillers. Not just the youth, there is a loyal fan base for suspense thrillers among all adults, so we are extremely optimistic about them loving our film as it is after a long time that such a suspense thriller has come on screen."
While "A Flying Jatt" releases on August 25 on the occasion of Janmashthami, "Missing on a Weekend" releases a day later on Friday.
"Missing on a Weekend" was earlier ready to release on July 1 but its troubles with the censor board delayed its release by seven weeks.
He said, "The only worry was the censors and the release, but once that was cleared, we are now not at all worried and are extremely confident about our film."
"Missing on a Weekend" is the story of seven friends' trip to Goa, which gets troublesome when five of them go missing and one gets killed followed by thrilling investigation into the turn of events.
The film stars Pavan Malhotra, Karan Hariharan and Dishank Arora among others. The film is presented by Red Bulb Studios and Adept Films.
