The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has invited applications for a course in bee-keeping, the varsity said in a statement Friday.
"The programme aims to provide scientific knowledge and to impart education about modern bee-keeping and apiculture (management and study of honey bees) to increase the income of farmers," the statement said.
The duration of the programme is six months. However, candidate have the flexibility of completing the programme within two years.
"The course fee is Rs.1,100 and the programme is open to class eight pass-outs or professional bee-keepers," the statement added.
Admission to the course will be open till July 31.
Aspiring students can obtain the form and prospectus from various regional centres for Rs.200.
