Delhi Tuesday saw a partly cloudy day with the maximum temperature recorded at 18 degrees celsius, three notches below the season's average. The national capital is likely to see a similar Wednesday with light rain.

"The city will see a partly overcast Wednesday. Rain is likely in some parts of the capital which may be followed by a foggy evening," said an official of the India Meteorological Department.

The maximum and the minimum temperatures Wednesday are likely to hover around 17 degrees and 11 degrees Celsius respectively.

There was poor visibility Tuesday morning due to fog, leading to 45 trains being delayed. Visibility slumped to 600 metres at 8.30 a.m.

According to the Northern Railway, 22 trains were rescheduled while 23 trains were running late and two were cancelled.

But no flights were cancelled or delayed due to the poor visibility, Indira Gandhi International Airport said in a statement.

The minimum temperature for the day settled at 9.4 degrees Celsius, three notches above the season's average.

Monday's maximum temperature was recorded at 20.7 degrees Celsius, a notch above the season's average. The minimum temperature was 9.4 degrees Celsius, two notches above the season's average.
