It was a cold and partly cloudy Wednesday in the national capital with the maximum temperature recording 17.5 degrees Celsius, four notches below the season's average.
The Met department forecast a similar Thursday with light rain in the city.
"The national capital will see a partly overcast and cold Thursday. Light rain is likely in some parts of the capital," said an official with the India Meteorological Department.
The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 17 and 10 degrees Celsius respectively.
Wednesday morning was foggy which delayed over 40 trains with visibility down to 800 meters.
According to Northern Railway, due to fog 46 trains were running late, three were rescheduled and one was cancelled.
Officials at the Indira Gandhi International Airport said: "Flight operations were not affected due to the Delhi fog."
The minimum temperature of the day settled at 9.5 degrees Celsius, two notches above the season's average. Humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 90 percent.
Tuesday's maximum temperature was 18 degrees Celsius, three notches below the season's average and the minimum temperature settled at 9.8 degrees Celsius, three notches above the season's average.
