A brawl broke out at the 71st Annual Tony Awards after-party when one expelled guest made a wild, drunken stab to breach the bash after which the police was called.
The award ceremony took place on June 11 at Radio City Music Hall here to recognise achievements in Broadway productions during the 2016-17 season.
The after-party was attended by celebrities like Anna Wintour, Scarlett Johansson, Bette Midler, Glenn Close, Sally Field and Olivia Wilde.
Extra security was on hand to deal with crashers at the party where a cafe was transformed into "Disco Dolly!" as a homage to 1969 romantic comedy musical film "Hello, Dolly!", reports pagesix.com.
But one guest "showed up to the party punchy and completely drunk", said a witness.
"He was belligerent. He tried to force his way through and a security guard reminded him that he'd been kicked out," the eyewitness added.
The theatre personnel then "ran through the revolving door chased by security into the lobby at peak party".
"He threw a fit. The poor bouncer had to use force to subdue the maniac because he was so wasted. He was on the ground screaming," the witness said.
