Unidentified assailants on Friday snatched a rifle from a policeman in south Kashmir's Kulgam district.
"Unidentified persons snatched an AK-47 rifle of constable Zahid Ahmad today (Friday)," a senior police official told IANS here.
"The constable was deployed outside a district court complex in Kulgam," the official said.
Kulgam is 68 km south of summer capital Srinagar.
In the last few months, there has been rise in incidents of weapons being snatching by separatist guerrillas in the Valley, particularly in south Kashmir.
