President Pranab Mukherjee Wednesday presented the Indira Gandhi National Services Scheme (NSS) awards on the occasion of the former prime minister's 97th birth anniversary.
The awards were presented at a programme at the Rashtrapati Bhavan to people and institutions under different categories for the outstanding work done by them under the NSS.
The awards are given in four categories - best university, upcoming university, NSS units and programme officers and NSS volunteers.
While the Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala was presented with the "Best University" award and the Andhra University in Visakhapatnam bagged the award for the "Upcoming University".
