Premium motorcycle maker Cleveland Cyclewerks India plans to sell about 25,000 units per year in two/three years time and open about 30 showrooms across the country, said a top company official.
"We are in the process of opening up dealerships across the country in metropolitan cities and other major cities. We plan to open 30 showrooms by the end of 2018-19," Pranav T. Desai, Director and Chief Executive Officer, told reporters here on Thursday.
According to him, the company has set up an assembly plant in Pune with a capacity of 35,000 units per annum.
Cleveland Cyclewerks India will import the motorcycles in completely knocked down (CKD) form to be assembled at its Pune plant.
The company launched a showroom and launched two 250cc models here.
Desai said the company plans to have seven showrooms in Tamil Nadu.
In India, Cleveland Cyclewerks, will be focussing on the lifestyle segment in India and will not be competing head-on with other players, said Scott Colosimo, Founder of the US-based company.
However, he declined to share the company's global sales and revenue numbers.
