Chilly conditions prevailed in Uttar Pradesh Saturday, with Nazeebabad in Bijnor district recording 0.5 degrees Celsius overnight.
A sunny afternoon Friday provided some relief but the evening witnessed heavy rains in many places in Uttar Pradesh.
The meteorological department has predicted more rainfall in the coming days. Its director J.P. Gupta said the rains were likely to stop from Monday.
The maximum temperature in Lucknow Friday was 19.3 degrees Celsius (three degrees below normal) and the lowest was 5.2 degrees Celsius (two notches below normal).
While most cities witnessed clear weather Saturday, the outskirts and highways were enveloped in dense fog, Gupta said.
Friday night temperatures dropped steeply in Agra, Moradabad, Meerut and Gorakhpur.
The railways said over 20 trains were running late after fog affected visibility.
