Real Madrid head coach Rafael Benitez has sent his best wishes to Johan Cruyff, who was diagnosed with lung cancer, and urged the sporting world to support the Dutch football legend.
"We're talking about a person who has been and remains a very important figure in the footballing world, both as a player and a coach," Efe quoted Benitez as saying on Friday when he was asked about the Dutchman's illness.
"We have to wish him all the best, hope for a solution and the best possible outcome for him. Even though he is a Barcelona legend, the sporting world, in general, has to unite and I'd like to send him my very best wishes," the Spanish coach added.
