"Restrictions under Section 144 of the CrPc have been imposed to maintain law and order," a Jammu and Kashmir police official said.

On Thursday, the authorities had snapped Internet services in Srinagar after the Lashkar-e-Taiba commander was killed along with his other Pakistani associate, Chota Qasim in Nowgam area here.

All colleges and higher secondary schools have been closed in the city as a precautionary measure.

Train services between Baramulla and Bannihal have also been suspended.

The state police chief, however, admitted there was still a large number of militants operating in the state.
