The makers of upcoming Telugu period-drama "Rudhramadevi" have spent a lavish Rs.5 crore on jewellery for actress Anushka Shetty, who essays the role of princess Rani Rudhramadevi in the film.
"We had to keep everything as authentic as possible. From make-up to costumes to jewellery, we wanted authenticity. Therefore, we didn't hesitate to spend so much on jewellery worth Rs.5 crore. All this will make our efforts look authentic on screen," director Gunasekhar told IANS.
After "Baahubali", the second most highly anticipated Telugu film is "Rudhramadevia", which is also slated to release in 2015.
The film, which is also produced by Gunasekhar, features an ensemble cast of Rana Daggubati, Hamsa Nandini, Prakash Raj, Catherine Tresa and Baba Sehegal in important roles.
Maestro Illayaraja is composing tunes for "Rudhramadevi", which is the story set against the backdrop of Kakatiya dynasty.
