Actor Sean Penn regrets that his interview with Mexican druglord El Chapo failed to elicit the expected buzz.
Penn was hopeful to prompt a discussion about drug policy reform, reports mirror.co.uk.
"I have a terrible regret. I have a regret that the entire discussion about this article ignores its purpose, which was to contribute to this conversation on the war on drugs," "The Gunman" actor said on CBS' "60 Minutes show"
"My article has failed," he added.
The star also accused the Mexican government of releasing details of his secret meeting, and defended the interview that he had given to Rolling Stone magazine.
