A least seven militants were killed and one arrested in two separate army operations in Algeria near the borders with Mali and Libya, a security source said Sunday.
The source said two SUV vehicles were destroyed as the militants were attempting to cross the border of Mali with Algeria, Xinhua reported.
Five militants were killed during the operation, and a load of arms and missiles were retrieved.
In another separate operation, the army killed two militants while trying to infiltrate Algeria via the Libyan border.
