"Sing 2", a sequel of 2016 musical comedy film "Sing", will release on December 25, 2020, production banners Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment announced.
The studios also said that the release of "Secret Life of Pets 2" will be pushed back a year from July 3, 2018 to July 3, 2019, reports variety.com.
However, they have advanced the release date of "Minions 2" from July 10, 2020 to July 3.
"Sing", which featured the voices of Matthew McConaughey and Reese Witherspoon as animals competing in an "American Idol" like singing competition, collected $429 million.
"The Secret Life of Pets" was another big hit in 2016, grossing $875 million worldwide.
Meanwhile, "Minions", released in June 2015, grossed a whopping $1.16 billion worldwide.
