Singer-songwriter Sam Smith has called some of the modern age pop stars "awful."
In the new issue of V magazine, the 22-year-old bonds with music icon Chaka Khan where he took a dig at some of the new pop stars, reports eonline.com.
"Even when you meet them-I won't name names-but some of these pop stars are just awful," Smith told Khan in an interview with the magazine.
"And they have not even had half the success that you've had and yet you're so humble and kind," he added.
Khan replied: "Well, it's people skills. Talking to a screen all day long takes the human experience out. Luckily I grew up in a time when we only had a telephone at home."
Meanwhile, the two also vowed to work together sometime in the future.
"We are definitely going to write a song together," Khan told Smith.
"Hundred percent, I'm in, I was actually thinking me, you, and Mary (J. Blige) would do something," Smith replied.
"That'd be hot. She's (Blige) a good writer," Khan said.
